My Prayer Today is Simply, “Help me,” a Guest Post by Sharie at Sending Joy

Sharie from Sending Joy is the inspired author of many heartfelt posts; she helped me to heal my guilt–and others who’ve found themselves at her blog. This guest post sums up the essence of her messages for us.

Let’s take a quiet walk with God and allow our conversation to be a simple, ‘Help me.’

“Help me to see the world through Your eyes.”

“Help me to know the lesson here.”

“Help me to find peace in this.”

“Help me to see the miracles in all things.”

“Help me to recognize my Holiness.”

“Help me to see the Holiness in others.”

“Help me to see that all I search for is right inside of me.”

“Help me to see that all I fear is my own happiness.”

“Help me see that my lack of peace is my choice for war in some form.”

“Help me to not wage war with myself and others.”

“Help me to be grateful for everything, knowing every experience is here to help me in some way.”

“Help me to listen, hear and trust in You and Your Love and to see there really is nothing else.”

Each “help me” is a prayer to be used to serve you throughout your days. Then design your own “help me” prayers to fit your specific life’s needs and experiences. After each help me, don’t forget to take a quiet moment to walk with God and listen for His answer. And then say, “Thank you.”

Let’s Plug Into the Truth, a Guest Post from Sharie, Spirit Teacher

Flowing

By Sharie, Spirit Teacher

“Today I will remember the power of my thoughts and choose Love.”

What stops peace is when we plug the flow of God’s Love with our muddy thoughts and judgments. It doesn’t mean that our peace no longer exists. It only means that we have plugged the flow of God’s loving energy with our fear.

There was a time we knew all this. Long ago God first Created us as Spirit in His Likeness, before we re-created Him in ours.  And yet no matter how dense our misperceptions of ourselves and God, still He is as He always was—and, in God’s Eyes, so are We.

We can bring clarity and the pure stream of joy and understanding back into our conscious awareness by simply choosing Love instead of fear at all times. A Course In Miracles teaches that we are far too tolerant of our mind wanderings. We think our ego thoughts have the power and so we let them run rampant and cause us sadness, anxiety, sickness and insanity which translates into nature’s imbalance and the world’s suffering. We really don’t believe there is another way to live. And we certainly don’t have a clue as to how powerful our thoughts are. If God stood right in front of us and told us the truth, we wouldn’t believe Him. And yet this is exactly what He does as He speaks to the heart of each of us constantly answering our prayers for peace and happiness. These are the answers we ignore or refuse to hear because they aren’t coming in exactly the form that our ego’s expect and understand.

So let’s begin today to unplug from fear and plug into our truth and let our light shine and our peace and God’s abundant Love flow free.

Let’s surrender our preconceived ideas of what Happiness is and what Healing is.  Instead, let’s place all our trust in God.

And then let’s wait and see what happens.

An Answer to Our Collective Prayer, A Guest Post by Sharie from Sending Joy

Happiness is Essential by Sharie of Sending Joy

“I want to see the world through God’s eyes today.”

There is only one way to see the world and still be at peace.  That is through the eyes of God. Whenever we can’t understand what we see or the reason we are having a particular experience, let’s not try to figure it out. We can’t.  Our job is to simply be still and pray, “God let me see this through your eyes.” And peace will flood through us and we will know that beneath the devastation and beyond the insanity, there is a place where all is well.

No matter how terrible things look, there are always underlying miracles and blessings working to make corrections. Those miracles are God’s gifts and we must allow them and trust in them, be grateful for them and surrender everything else. In this way, are we now an instrument of peace, a channel for healing and a part of the solution.

One of the biggest mistakes we make is not recognizing our part in the healing of the world. We may think we want to be happy, but if we’re not it isn’t hurting anything. The fact is our happiness is essential to God’s Plan for our healing and the world’s.

May you walk in the world today with a happy heart and God’s vision for seeing all things through His eyes.

What If Fear is Only a Part of the Process? A Guest Post from Sharie at Sending Joy

Sharie, Your post applies to nearly everyone on the planet and is so helpful. May I share it at my blog, too? Love you, Pam

Hello Pam Dear, Another perspective on fear. We get so overwhelmed and trapped by our fears that we forget it’s just a thought or a judgment and more often than not, not a very accurate one at that. Please do share this post on your site or any others that you feel might be helpful. Thank you! Love you, Sharie/Sending Joy

FEAR IS A MISTAKE

“I will smile in Fear’s face today.”

Sometimes it seems that fear has a mind of its own. We know we want to be happy and at peace but fear just won’t let us. It wraps its claw-like fingers around our heart and squeezes the breath right out of our lungs. Or its dark shadow silently stalks us all day, staying at the peripheral of our mind until the night when all is quiet. Then it leaps out at us with crazy thoughts of this and that. We try to fill our minds with loving affirmations and busy thoughts that feel more productive. We may try to pray, or meditate, but our brain is churning with doubt and confusion. Sometimes it’s too overwhelming and we just cry out for help or yell at God for letting this happen to us. After all, we work so hard trying to be a good person, how is it possible that we can be in such pain?

But perhaps this fear isn’t such a bad thing. What if it is simply part of the process of our healing and really something helpful if we just stop fighting it?  What if we just stand back and allow it?  Feel the tension in our shoulders, the tightness in our chest. Can we unclench our fists and simply look at the panic thoughts and let the sad and angry tears flow free? It isn’t easy to face the fear with a calm and quiet mind and an open heart. In fact it can be terrifying because it feels like the end of our peace forever. But we know it isn’t. We’ve had these insanity attacks before. We know they come and go. They must be part of the journey of allowing us to heal from our past.

So now, let’s just watch our fear and see what it does. See how it fades more quickly with no resistance? See how clearly we can see God’s loving Light fill up the dark space where fear, just moments before, felt so powerful and real? See how our tears of sadness quietly become tears of gratitude and joy?

What a relief to know that no matter how it looks or how it feels, fear is not real. Only God is. And God is only Love. Now, we understand, if we’re not at peace, we’re simply making a mistake. It’s not our job to correct the mistake, it’s our job to stop fighting it so God can shine His Light into our mind and heart and make the corrections for us. He does this by showing us the truth of who we are.

Will fear come back? Most likely. The ego doesn’t give up easily. But now we know the answer, let it come.  Sure it’s scary, but so what?  Scary isn’t the end of the world. If we can accept that and smile through the pain, even better. Our smile tells us it’s not so serious as we thought and opens up the channel for God’s healing Power. Now, we can get back into our right minds, our loving prayers and quiet meditations which help to weaken our fear muscle and strengthen our joy muscle. Fear is just a thought and so is Love. God gave us the power to choose which teacher we will follow, which thought we want to listen to.

One thing is for certain, if we choose to be at war with fear or try to hide from it, we only make it stronger. The only way to dispel it is to accept, allow and surrender it to God.

A Powerful Knowing

My friend, Sharie, from Sending Joy, a WordPress blog, made a comment recently on my post, ‘A Simple Life in a New World.’ At her blog, Sharie teaches how to focus on Love and Light and leave all the rest behind. I’d like to share here her comment; the sentences in italics deeply touched me:

“Pam Dear, we need to believe in everything because all things are possible. The so-called miracles of this world, like your son’s magic tooth, are really nothing compared to the power of God that is working constantly in and through us in a place beyond this world. I would tell our brother who doesn’t believe in the power of visualization that he needs to have a little more faith … in himself. We can look and easily see all the destruction and the violence and scarcity and pain and suffering here. Those things are easy to see because they make a lot of noise and are very distracting. And they’re in the news a lot, presented in the most dramatic way possible.

But the peace and joy and capacity for true healing that lives within us is very quiet and so we don’t always remember to look for it. We just need to pay a little more attention to the real miracles and less attention to the chaos. It’s all in where we choose to focus our minds. On the flowers—or the weeds. On the destruction—or on the love that arises from it. Thank you for all your thought provoking posts. Love you, Sharie”

“The so-called miracles of this world, like your son’s magic tooth, are really nothing compared to the power of God that is working constantly in and through us in a place beyond this world.” Powerful words, powerful knowing. Sharie and I both started our blogs in June, 2009, and soon found each other. I write about my spiritual journey with mostly personal reflections. Sharie is like a ship, strong and sure, riding waves of Light from the Love-place beyond this world, the place her heart-mind is ever focused. I hope you’ll stop by her blog, http://sendingjoy.wordpress.com, especially when you’re feeling fearful or overwhelmed. Every time Sharie posts, she uses different words to assure us our chaotic world is not the real world, and all we need do to experience love and healing is turn our eyes toward the Light and say, “I see you, Lord of Love. I am here.”

On a personal note, we’re having our family Thanksgiving dinner this weekend because this is when we can all be together. Both my sons will be here from out of town and I am so happy! My brother’s daughter and her children were here last weekend for a reconciliation that happened. I’m taking a moment to express my gratitude for a loving family that had quite a way to go, and made the journey, is making the journey, with the grace of Love.
