“Enter the portals of the New Year with new hope. Remember that you are a child of God. It lies with you as to what you are going to be. Be proud that you are a child of God. What have you to fear? No matter what comes, believe it is the Lord who is sending that to you; and you must succeed in conquering those daily challenges. Therein lies your victory. Do His will; nothing can hurt you then. He loves you everlastingly. Think that. Believe that. Know that. And suddenly one day you will find you are immortally alive in God.Meditate more and believe in the strong consciousness that God is always with you regardless of what happens. Then you will see that the veil of delusion will be taken away and you will be one with That which is God. That is how I found my greatest happiness in life.”

From a New Year’s letter by Sri Mrinalini Mata, in which she quotes the great master, Paramahansa Yogananda, on New Year’s Eve in 1934.

There Will Come a Time…A Guest Post from the 11:11 Progress Group

August 28, 2011
Teacher Ophelius, Received by Chris

Teacher Ophelius: “Today we will speak about a time of unity. This is a time when all people, races, religions, and nations will come together and ‘feel’ that they are a part of the human family–brothers and sisters of this planet called Urantia. No longer will differences in culture or religion be viewed as something foreign or something to assimilate or eradicate, but such will be looked upon as something to treasure and revere as a rich rainbow of diversity that adds value to the whole of humanity.

“There will come a time when all peoples will revere the planet as the nursery and mother of their terrestrial home and will see to it that She is cared for, respected, and made beautiful for generations to come, for She is the soul generator of the Creator.

“There will come a time when women in every nation will stand on equal ground with men and be viewed as the temple of the Creator’s Indwelling just as all are — men, women, and children, for it is the feminine energies that will transform and bring the planet into balance.

“There will come a time when the raising of children will be the most important duty and never again will they be cast aside as inconveniences or distractions, but will be cherished as the future tenants of a world that is evolving and achieving greatness — where the values of truth, beauty, and goodness are instilled in their souls.

“There will come a time when corporations will become responsible and use philanthropy as the cornerstone of their success to provide jobs and to help solve world problems, while respecting the earth and building a sustainable future.

“There will come a time when governments will actually serve the many and care for the populace by making laws and policies that promote a realistic and sustainable future where all will have access to equality of opportunity–true life, liberty, and happiness.

“There will come a time when wars will be no more and military forces are used for good — to rescue people from unforeseen natural disasters or protect the virtues of equality of opportunity where a life of dignity is available to all men, women, and children.

“Presently, for the majority of the planet, this is not the case, but if you can dream it my friends, you can realize it by focusing your thoughts and directing your actions toward this attainable goal. There are people on this world now who are making a difference and working toward this dream. Seek them out, partner with them, and help grow these sustainable ideas. Only through the unity of our ideals can we realize this very attainable life we all dream of. What things can you do today to start moving in this direction? Meditate on this and put your thoughts into action.

Are Those Thoughts Yours?

Highlights from the Arcturian Group at stevebeckow.com.

“Life issues are personal depending upon the lessons chosen to be learned in this lifetime, but they are also general in the sense of a world consciousness of ignorance. In ignorance you have allowed your minds to accept any old impersonal beliefs floating around in the universal consciousness. Every belief anyone has ever had is floating about for you to accept or reject.

Most believe that when they have a thought, it is theirs. This is not true and this knowledge is a tool for you to start rejecting all you do not wish to be a part of your consciousness. It wasn’t all that long ago that man accepted the belief that the world was flat, but evolved beyond that. This is what you must do with every old third-dimensional belief that comes your way wanting entrance to your belief system.

Your intuition is guiding you to choose truth, and although at present the outer appearances may be very difficult for you, always let your first step be the recognition that you can never be separate from your divinity. You can never in life or death, sickness or health, rich or poor, be separated from that which you are! Rest in that dear ones, and let that be your very first action; then
proceed to take the human footsteps necessary for the particular task at hand…This is how you change and move beyond the old and outgrown belief system. The only heaven or hell there is, is what you create for yourself through your state of consciousness.

Meditation is important because it opens the door to your Higher Self. It says: “I am ready. Show me the way.” Paraphrasing Edgar Cayce: “Meditation is like riding up in an elevator and as the doors open at each floor you see interesting activity
taking place. Those who choose to stay and get involved in the activities of each floor will never get to the top.”

Dear ones, it is time to start walking the walk instead of just talking the talk. Many think because they read books, have taken or even teach classes, and understand spiritual principles that they have arrived. Knowledge is simply the first step. You must live it. It then unfolds into that which is new and higher and not known on earth yet. We would like to add that the Earth will soon experience a major energy shift. Be prepared and ready for change.”

Tug of War

I settled, again, into a funk a while back, feeling old and cranky and lost. Posting for 365 days (from June 2009 through June 2010) kept me focused and more peaceful, though if you had read them all, you’d have seen where I sank into pride or judging others or wrote while in bad mood. Even so, feeling called to the computer to write for a spiritual purpose released inner joy and I felt connected to my higher-self. I generally meditated before writing but often had trouble quieting my ‘monkey mind’ to listen for Love. In spite of the difficulties, because of an inner push and commitment and sincerity, the healing words came–for me and perhaps for someone else who happened upon Notes Along the Path.

After the year, I stopped writing for a while and was surprised at how quickly I lost the awareness of joy. So, I gave myself permission to come back to the computer whenever I needed to. Ever since then, I’ve been writing here and there and, interestingly (to me anyway), on those focused, centered-in-my-heart days, I feel better, more like I can cope with all that’s going on. On the un-centered days, the funk sneaks up on me. Apparently writing about God = Love = Higher Self = Compassion is now necessary for me. Is it because I feel a primary obligation to meditate on those days? (I must also ask, after all these years of meditating, admittedly on and off, why don’t I meditate every day? I suspect it has, as always, to do with not wanting to see the ‘stuff’ that is exposed.)

 The word ‘reconciliation’ came to me this morning. If you look it up in the dictionary, you’ll see definitions like:

  1. The end of conflict or renewal of friendly relations;
  2. The making of two or more apparently conflicting things compatible;
  3. The sacrament of penance in the Catholic Church whereby a person’s sins are absolved through confession and penance.

I love the second one: ‘The making of two or more apparently conflicting things compatible.’ This one fits with my lower-self/higher-self tug of war and does give me hope. Eventually it will all be reconciled. I will give up self-pity and fall into the soft arms of God’s Love, made whole at last.

The Mind is Only a Tool, a Guest Post by Michael Brine

Formal meditation should be seen as a valid tool to increase our understanding and connection with Truth, that which has no name—some call it ‘God.’ However, the concept of God is beyond the mind’s ability to truly understand, for ‘God’ is of the Heart and our Intuition.

The practice of stilling the mind is the doorway that allows us to enter the Heart and feel the stillness that is ALL. To feel the stillness is beyond the mind and word formulations. The mistake we so often make is to see the mind as the way to reach the ALL, when it is merely a doorway, particularly in a 3D universe.

Once we can still the mind and enter into that Silence, then will our Hearts open up to an understanding without words or mental formulations. Tears will flow from the very depths of our being and we will begin to feel Love in all its incredible beauty and our Oneness with all life everywhere, all worlds, all universes, all star systems—we will feel our oneness with That Which is ALL.

Then will we throw our hats into the air and fly to the moon! 🙂
